About the Reading and Performers
The title of the reading performance, “She Rode On a Wheel,” comes from a line in a poem written by US Senator Chauncey Depew about these remarkable ladies of the 1890s. Learn more about the founders of CDA through their letters, artfully brought to life by current members 130 years later.
This event will feature the talents of three contemporary Colonial Dames: Christine Jones, a professional actress of stage and film; Sally Lee, a professional actress and director; and Dara Brown, a professional actress and current news anchor and senior producer for MSNBC.com. Daniel Steffens, who spent six years broadcasting with National Public Radio, will read the parts of all the men. Daniel Steffens is a husband and father of Dames and the son-in-law of CDA’s late Verifying Genealogist, Pat Bereday.
This event is organized by 1st Vice President Beverley Sherrid, who also chairs the Parent Chapter Fellowship Committee and the Library and Archives Committee.
