Join this year’s Hearst Fellows as they present their original research and programming about New York City in the 19th century. Jolie Vanier, University of Oregon, and Sofia Altherr, Trinity College, will discuss the emerging furniture and textile industries, respectively, and share their accompanying virtual exhibitions. Jolie will highlight stories of the German immigrant artisans, and Sofia will explore the social and economic implications associated with clothing.
