2019 CDA Book Award Winners
The Colonial Dames of America has named the winners of its 2019 Book Awards. The awards will be presented at the CDA Awards Dinner on April 27, 2019 as part of the Society’s Annual Meeting weekend in New York. Past President General Audrey Svensson is Chairman of the CDA Book Awards Committee.
The winner of the 2019 CDA Book Award is AMERICAN EDEN: David Hosack, Botany, and Medicine in the Garden of the Early Republic, written by Victoria Johnson and published by Liveright (W.W. Norton & Company) .
The CDA will present a Citation to THE ACCIDENTAL PRESIDENT: Harry S. Truman and the Four Months that Changed the World, written by A.J. Baime and published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
The Young Reader’s Award winner is THIRTY MINUTES OVER OREGON, A Japanese Pilot’s World War II Story, written by Marc Tyler Nobleman, illustrated by Melissa Twain, and published by Clarion Books (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt).
