9.20.20 – Jamestown Gate Rededication Anniversary
CDA MEMORIES
Last year, September 2019 the CDA JAMESTOWN MEMORIAL GATES were rededicated on Jamestown Island, Virginia – site of the first permanent English settlement in North America 1607. The CDA Rededication ceremony took place after $40,000 restoration paid for by CDA. This gateway to history, as it is fondly called, was erected by CDA in 1907 for the Tercentennial of Jamestown, and donated to the Association for the Preservation of VA Antiquities (now Preservation VA). Pictured are Chapter VII-Nashville Dames with the dedication wreath. Over 150 Dames and friends attended the ceremony and related Richmond activities.
