3.20.18 – CDA Names 2018 Book Awards Winners

The Colonial Dames of America has named the winners of its 2018 Book Awards. The awards will be presented at the Society’s Annual Meeting in New York April 30, 2018. Past President General Audrey Svensson is Chairman of the CDA Book Awards Committee.

The winner of the 2018 CDA Book Award is OF ARMS AND ARTISTS:  The American Revolution through Painters’ Eyes, written by Paul Staiti and published by Bloomsbury Press.

The CDA will present a Citation to THE DOOLEYS OF RICHMOND:  An Irish Immigrant Family in the Old and New South, written by Mary Lynn Bayliss and published by  the University of Virginia Press.

The Young Reader’s Award winner is THE H.L.HUNLEY SUBMARINE: History and Mystery from the Civil War written by Fran Hawk, illustrated by Monica Wyrick, and published by Young Palmetto Books.
