Chapter XXXI – South Carolina’s Spring Meeting was a very full day indeed, featuring a VRA presentation, visit from President General Laurie Aldinger, and a guest speaker! April 2nd’s meeting took place at The Palmetto Club, where the ladies of Chapter XXXI gathered to celebrate chapter member Melissa Levesque receive the 2026 Van Rensselaer Award. Though Melissa was not able to receive her award at this year’s Annual Meeting in New York, she was still able to receive it directly from President General Laurie Aldinger, who was on a visit to the chapter.

Afterwards, Chapter XXXI enjoyed a presentation by guest speaker Ted Walker, to hear about his post-career work educating students on American history. Following a 26-year career in the United Stated Air Force, Mr. Walker has dedicated his time to “educating young patriots” in our nation’s principles to help foster a sense of civic pride and national responsibility.
