2025 CDA Annual Meeting
Members, prospective members, and guests gathered in New York City for the 135th Annual Meeting of The Colonial Dames of America—a weekend filled with celebration, reflection, and connection. From April 26–28, 2025, attendees enjoyed a series of receptions, award ceremonies, and the signature Annual Luncheon. The weekend offered a meaningful opportunity to honor the Society’s enduring legacy of historic preservation and education.

Saturday, April 26
The weekend began with the 1890 Society Reception, held at Holland Lodge No. 8, F. & A.M., on West 23rd Street. From 2:30 to 4:00 PM, 1890 Society donors for the 2024–2025 year gathered in a warm and convivial atmosphere. Personal invitations were sent to recognize their generosity and longstanding support.
Book Award Reception
Later that evening, the annual Book Award Reception took place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the historic New York Society Library on East 79th Street. Members and guests enjoyed a lovely evening honoring this year’s book award recipients, with refreshments, thoughtful conversation, and recognition of excellence in historical scholarship.
Sunday, April 27th
Anniversaries Campaign: Commemorative Plaque Unveiling
The day began with a special moment of commemoration as members gathered at the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden for the Anniversaries Campaign Plaque Unveiling at 3:30 PM. This dedication honored the legacy of the Museum and its supporters.
CDA Garden Party
Immediately following, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, the CDA Garden Party brought together Dames and guests in the Abigail Adams Smith Ballroom and throughout the museum garden grounds. Guests entered through 417 East 61st Street and enjoyed music, refreshments, and lively conversation amid spring blooms.
Monday, April 28th
On Monday, the Society held its official meetings and luncheon at a private club.
The day began with the Executive Council Meeting from 10:00 to 11:15 AM, followed by a brief Reception for all attendees.

135th Annual Luncheon and Meeting
The 135th Annual Luncheon and Meeting took place from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM in the elegant surroundings of a private club. Members gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, hear reports from the President and Committee Chairs, and look ahead to future initiatives. All luncheon attendees heard of this year's historic preservation and educational activities undertaken by fellow Dames.
