This year, all four honored authors accepted their awards in-person at the Book Award Reception on Saturday evening in the elegant New York Society Library. Between their prepared remarks and a lively Q&A, authors Amanda Vaill, Claudia Friddell, Selene Castrovilla, and Russell Shorto engaged attendees with inspiring words on their books’ subjects, their inspirations, and their writing processes. Each author expressed how especially meaningful it was to be recognized by CDA for their work, and their enthusiasm for history shone clearly throughout each presentation. The evening was a memorable culmination of the CDA Book Award Committee’s dedicated work throughout the year to extensively review newly published titles and carefully select this year’s honorees.
