Founded: 1982
Chapter History: Chapter XIX charter was approved on March 18, 1982 and signed by President General, Mrs. Andrew J. Miller on April 28, 1982. Our first president was Mrs. Resden DeFord of the Fort Myers Chapter XIX on the west coast of Florida. Members have joined from all over Florida and in 2003, it was renamed The Florida Everglades Chapter XIX. The chapter has hosted many president generals through the years and won the President’s Award for Excellence in 2003, for their project, Early Years Education, “Pat’s Tot Care.” It is a program to help teenager mothers received their high school diplomas. The chapter has had many projects and gives scholarships to local universities for history and nursing.
