Founded: April 26, 1984
History: The Organization Meeting for Chapter XXII Michigan was held on May 9, 1984, at the Ann Arbor’s Women’s Club. Eva Collins was the Organizing President. Additional Founding Members were Rosemary Baldwin, Lois A, Bienlien, Peg Christie, Yvonne Domson and Lephia Oncley.
Historic Preservation & Education: Chapter XXII actively supports the objects of the society in many ways. The Chapter raises funds to help maintain the Colonial Dames of America headquarters as a museum. Donations have been made at a formal afternoon tea to benefit the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum. The Chapter also supports the rich history of Michigan, particularly the Detroit area, including support of restoration of historic Meadow Brook Hall, and placing a historical plaque at the Detroit Boat Club.
Meetings: Chapter luncheon meetings are held in March, July, and October on Friday afternoon. Meetings include programs emphasize local history, and information about the Mount Vernon Hotel and Museum.
